A Look into the Future: Archbishop Rummel Raiders

This year at LGF, we will be taking a look at the senior class of some Louisiana high schools and taking a look at their potential to play at the next level. Categories for each position are measured on a 1-10 scale, with 10 being well above average and 1 being well below average. We continue with the senior class of Archbishop Rummel High school.

Erik Piedy DB 6-0 175lbs

Good coverage corner. Is at his best when he can press at the line. Looks for the ball when in phase and doesn’t panic when not in phase. Average speed. Good ball skills. Future Outlook: FCS/D2 CB

Ja’marr Chase WR 6-1

Good footwork at the line to beat man coverage. Very good speed. Runs away from the defense. Good size and speed to be a prototypical WR. Good hands and attacks the ball at its highest point. Runs OK routes. Future Outlook: D1 WR

Aaron Brule S 6-2 200lbs

Listed as safety but they like to move him all over the field. Has size to play in the box and the speed to play dep. Good instincts. Plays well against the run and pass. Future Outlook: D1 S

Shane Brotherton LB 5-10 205lbs

Gets into the backfield often to stop run plays and quick screens. Diagnoses plays quickly. Think his size may work against him at the next level. If coverage skills improve, he should move to safety. Future Outlook: D2/D3 S

Keirell Jackson RB 5-6 185lbs

See’s hole and hits hole. Tough to bring down on first contact. Elusive. Good speed. Did not see him catch many passes out of the backfield. Will need to improve pass pro. Future Outlook: D1/FCS RB

Evan Francioni WR 6-0 180lbs

Good hands. Possession/slot receiver. Good blocker on the perimeter. Decent speed. Runs the scramble drill really well to help his QB. Future Outlook: FCS/D2 WR

Glen Thurmond DL 6-0 250lbs

One gap, run-stopping DT. Just OK rushing the passer, better against the run. Good athlete. Needs to lower pad level to get more power against blockers. Future Outlook: D2/D3 DT

Jermie Walker WR 6-0 160lbs

Return specialist. Hands are OK. Needs to work on releases off the line. Also needs to get stronger. Decent speed. Future Outlook: D3 WR

Ronald Ross OL 6-0

Good size and strength. Moves his man back when blocking. May have the athleticism to move to OT at the next level but will have to work on his technique.

Future Outlook: D2 OL
