Tulane Football Goes in Full Pads to Wrap Up First Week

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane football put on full pads for their workout at the New Orleans Saints indoor facility Saturday night to wrap up the first week of preseason camp.
The Green Wave wore pants to go along with their shells for the first time during camp. The Wave went live for the team session at the end of the two-hour practice, which head coach Willie Fritz said was important for his squad.
“We wanted to get our guys used to playing in pads,” Fritz said. “Sometimes you wait until game day, and it’s too late. We’ll do some full-pad practices on Friday and Saturday too, when we’ll have a full complement of officials here.”
In 7-on-7 drills, senior running back Sherman Badie hauled in a pass down the sideline from sophomore quarterback Johnathan Brantley, and in team drills, freshman running back Stephon Huderson cut a long run through the middle. Saturday’s workout leads into the team’s first off day of camp on Sunday.
“The off day is big time for recovery, and big to get your mind away from football for a little bit and charge back after it on Monday morning,” Fritz said.
The Green Wave will return to the Yulman Stadium turf on Monday morning. The Saints will hold a practice at Yulman Stadium on Sunday at 7 p.m. Tulane practices are closed to the public.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Genuinely rarely will i encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you’ve got hit the nail about the head. Your thought is outstanding; the problem is something too little folks are speaking intelligently about. I am happy that we found this inside my search for some thing regarding this.
