How long have you been playing football and what do you love about football?

I have been playing football since kindergarten and I love everything about football. I love the schematics and how things come together to help make a successful play. I also love how it brings people together from all over and creates bonds that will last a lifetime.

What are some life lessons you have learned from playing football?

I have learned never to give up. Adversity builds character, and in football there is a lot of adversity. Sometimes things will not be going your way, and it teaches you that if you want to be successful, you have to focus in to the current play/rep/film session to overcome that adversity.

What kind of football player are you?

I am a passionate football player. I am very vocal and I love contact. I like to fly around the field making plays to help my team win. I like to encourage my brothers and teammates on the field and do whatever it takes to become successful.

Who are some of your biggest influences?

My dad was my biggest influence in my life and still is today. He passed away and year and a half ago. The reason he is my biggest influence is because he was always my biggest supporter and drove me to various camps, colleges, and combines to put me in a situation where I could be successful. He was my best friend and someone who I could go to about anything. I play for him and am so grateful for all that he taught me.

Are there any football players you try to model yourself after?

I love watching tape on Devin White. He is a big guy but can also fly, he is a leader and is always making plays.

Do you play any other sports or have any hobbies?

I played baseball my whole life up until last year. I love to play pick up basketball, and workout. I also enjoy breaking down film from any football game and noticing tendencies. Finally, I like hanging out with my friends and my girlfriend who attends the University of Alabama.

What made you decide to play linebacker?

I had played a H-Back, Tight End for most of my life, but our first game my sophomore year we had two linebackers go down with injury. My coaches asked me to go in and I have learned on the fly. I fell in love with defense and being able to be the “quarterback” of the defense. Switching to Linebacker was a blessing in disguise and I am so grateful that my coaches gave me the opportunity.

What is your greatest strength on the football field?

I am a hard hitter and am not afraid to run in and make a hit.

What is a part of your game that you are trying to improve?

I need to get better at getting back into pass coverage quicker and being able to survey the field as well as read the quarterbacks eyes.

What are your goals for your senior year?

My goals are to go 10-0 in the regular season and go to State. We have a great, close group of guys and coaches and I believe that if we focus in and not get distracted, we can achieve anything we want. I also want to make 1st team all-state and be the defensive MVP for District 1-5A
